Decisions, Remorse and Realization

The Motivation to write this monograph is the chaos that erupts in my mind when I look back at my decisions made in life and the consequences it led to. A lot of decisions I took may have led to momentary happiness, but seeing my personality, it wasn't very efficient in making me content for a longer time period.

This Monograph will be divided into the following parts: -

1. Long Term Happiness

Contentment is something that usually you won't find young people indulging in. It's a term that was up until a few years ago, was reserved for religious folk or older people. Contentment is a sense of peace with yourself and instead of strong happiness, contentment is more akin to a lack of agitation or negativity. Contentment frees us to pursue our tasks and goals in peace while intense happiness might disbalance us and cause us to forget our goals in pursuit of further ecstasy. Lasting Contentment is often easy to think about but much harder to realize effectively. Our brain is inherently chaotic and it's up to our soul to channel it in the right direction. Even if everything in your life is going well, our brain has the tendency to create artificial problems and then get stressed about it. Acquiring it, thus is a fundamental goal of our lives.

2. Known Short Term Agitations/Fulfilling Them

Not all counters to Long Term Contentment are unpredictable or unknown. A Lot of our problems are caused by the lack of fulfilment of certain needs, the consequences of which spring up later, causing anxieties and agitations. These specific agitations can actually be controlled by careful organization of our lives. The largest potential of removing short term agitations belongs to children as all of their time can be organized, while an adult may come to his or her senses much later, already ruining a large part of their lives.

Some of the common ones can be described here as - Urgent Need for Romantic/Sexual Fulfillment due to lack of female companionship, Dissatisfaction with the current job (monetary or social or even workwise), loneliness due to lack of friends, dissatisfaction with family life etc.

3. Permanence here refers to the willing or unwitting circumstance of staying at one place for the majority of a human's life. Overtly attached people recognize the importance of this trait more than impassive people. When you have to leave your home of 20+ years or the relatively shorter but happier college or 4+ years, there is a resistance and disquiet in the heart which silently proclaims that you won't be ever able to see this place again. Even apart from emotional baggage, Permanence helps in
